Cristina Lugo, LCSW is an eclectic, creative and collaborative psychotherapist with a background in community organizing and expressive arts. She has worked in the field of social work for the past twelve years with many populations from incarcerated women to homeless youth, from schools and clinics on the east and west coast in English and in Spanish. She is strongly influenced by her work in the community as the founder of multiple community groups, participating in social justice campaigns, fundraising efforts, writing and presenting workshops and supporting causes to strengthen and empower her community. She has worked as a therapist for the past nine years and incorporates EMDR, expressive arts therapy and mindfulness into her work and currently practices at the Institute for Girls' Development in Pasadena, California. In her therapeutic sessions with youth, young adults, groups and families, she has worked to inspire transformation and growth in her clients with the belief that self liberation is within reach for all of us.
